International corporate services company Hogg Robinson Group (HRG) today announces that Zambian corporate travel expert Travel Tech Limited has joined the HRG worldwide network. This latest development reflects a substantial increase in the number of multinational companies looking to consolidate their business in Africa and demonstrates HRG’s commitment to continuing to expand the HRG worldwide network in line with client requirements.

First established in 1992, Lusaka-based Travel Tech’s key corporate clients include: the Christian Children’s Fund, Citibank, Kobil (Z) Ltd, the Norwegian and Swedish Embassies, Shimizu Corporation and Standard Chartered Bank. The country has good trading links with European Union countries, South Africa, Japan and the United States and has attracted continued private investment and commitment in recent years due to a combination of progress in privatisation and budgetary reform and the introduction of liberal economic policies. Highlighting a favourable environment for foreign investment, Zambia’s GDP (gross domestic product) is forecast to grow by around 6 per cent in 2007 and 2008*.

Kala Iyengar, Managing Director of Travel Tech commented: “Joining the HRG worldwide network, and adopting HRG’s corporate services philosophy, ensures that we are able to combine our local knowledge and expertise with HRG’s international strength for the advantage of both national and multinational clients. This is particularly important as organisations expand their business practices in Zambia and throughout Africa as a region.”

David Radcliffe, Chief Executive of HRG, added: “I am delighted to welcome Kala and her colleagues at Travel Tech to the HRG worldwide network.”

He continued: “We are committed to ensuring that we have strong operations in all key locations globally, with particular emphasis on providing added value to those clients who trade across borders and wish to consolidate their corporate travel related activities.

“HRG Zambia’s national clients will also benefit from this partnership, gaining access to the expertise of the global HRG organisation and a comprehensive range of corporate travel related products, services and solutions.”

Travel Tech joins HRG’s Africa region. In addition to Zambia, HRG’s partner operations in this region are located in Botswana, Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
